Moda, Springside Edinburgh

Careys has been awarded a package of works at Springside in Edinburgh, the residential development comprised of studio apartments, one to three-bedroom apartments and town houses on behalf of principal contractor, Robertson.

Springside will create an urban village located in Fountainbridge, just a few minutes' walk from Haymarket train station. Creating a new neighbourhood in the city, Springside will be home to 476 rental apartments, shops, bars, restaurants, extensive parks and a public square. Residents will have access to lounges, dedicated health and wellbeing zones, a games room and dining club, with terrace views towards the iconic Edinburgh Castle.

Our scope of work at Springside encompassed a seven storey post-tension frame with a single basement level car park. Our package scheduled for completion in September 2021, our package of work includes:

• Substructure works
• Superstructure works (including 5 no. jumpform cores)
• Cranage (4 tower cranes)
• Hard landscaping

Despite challenges posed to the team delivering groundworks during the wintertime including cold and wet weather, we worked in parallel with the tight programme of works. Consistent with the robust schedule, we completed our tower crane erections by then end of April 2020.
