In celebration of our 50th anniversary this year, Careys Foundation has set our biggest charitable cycling challenge yet – both in terms of mileage and fundraising.
24-hour cycle challenge in aid of five excellent causes
Across several of Careys’ offices, throughout the UK and Ireland, our employees will take to the saddle to participate in our impressive 24-hour static cycle challenge. This event will happen from Wednesday 26th to Thursday 27th of June, and will be in aid of Careys Foundation’s five chosen charities for 2019:
In our regional offices in Wembley, Kings Cross, Glasgow, Dublin, and across various Careys Civil Engineering projects– over 250 of our dedicated employees will climb onboard static bikes and cycle for over 24 consecutive hours, spread across a series of time slots.
Our targets
Not content to pedal in the daylight hours, our cycling enthusiasts will also be riding throughout the night – all in support of fantastic causes.
Taking the challenge, a step further, we’ve set dual targets – aiming to hit 5,000 miles on the bikes and bring in a fundraising total of £35,000 for our chosen charities. Our contribution will help to fund pioneering research into breast cancer, dementia and motor neurone disease, and provide state-of-the-art equipment for children at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
A big thank you to our sponsors who have kindly shown their support towards this years' event:
And a big thank you to the following PureGym branches who have kindly donated spin bikes towards our static cycle challenge:
