Construction is the only thing I’ve ever done, and I am incredibly passionate about it but in my role now, to have the opportunity to coach and help the next generation believe in themselves and help them find their skillset is something I also love. We’re lucky in our work that we can see a physical product at the end of a project but being able to see someone flourish when you’ve had a chat and given them confidence in themselves is equally as rewarding for me.

My time at Careys started in 2003 when I began work on site at ASDA in Stevenage as a kerb layer/groundworker. I worked on jobs up and down the country including Colchester Garrison and two major schemes for GlaxoSmithKline where I was promoted to Project Manager. Following that I was made Contracts Manager for the Milton Keynes region and today am proud to lead Careys across the Midlands as Regional Director.
As well as my role supporting our construction teams, I am a facilitator for Leading Edge which is the name we give to our collection of learning opportunities that help our people develop great behaviours and be their best self. Developed in partnership with Franklin Covey, and shaped by Careys, the content benefits people both personally and professionally and what I especially enjoy about helping to deliver it is that there are opportunities for everybody across the group, regardless of their role or the level they operate at.
