Careys are proud to now be offering the Skills Bootcamp in Construction and the built environment as a General Operative, an option for entering a career in construction groundworks, or as a Construction Supervisor for those who are looking to advance in the construction sector.

Upskilling Opportunities

  • Minimal cost/free upskilling opportunities for existing employees
  • develop workforce through knowledge, behaviour, and new skills
  • all modules can be mapped as RPL for NVQ Diplomas (CSCS, CPCS Cards)

There are four pathways the learner can progress into:

  • Construction
  • Highways and maintenance
  • Civils
  • Utilities

In each pathway the learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge across four mandatory units:

  • NOCN Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
  • NOCN Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
  • NOCN Level 2/3 Mental Health and Resilience
  • NOCN Level 3/4 Sustainability in the Workplace

Dependent on the job role, the learner/business will additionally select a combination of NOCN Level 3 units from the options below to complete the course:

  • Coordinating and organising work operations in the workplace
  • Allocating and monitoring the use of plant machinery or equipment in the workplace
  • Implementing and maintaining health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
  • Supervising health, safety and welfare in construction
  • Supervising sustainability in construction

Who can join the skills bootcamp as a general operative?

Whether you are in work, self-employed, unemployed, or returning to work after a break, the Skills Bootcamp is open to you!

To be eligible for the Skills Bootcamp, you must:

  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Live in England

When and where will the skills bootcamp be delivered?

Our Construction Supervisor Skills Bootcamp offers regular start dates throughout the year. The programme spans a duration of three weeks, from Monday through Friday, with classes held between 8:30 AM and 16:30 PM. The course has a flexible approach to delivery one week block and 10 weeks (10 days) combination of day release, independent study, and online delivery for employed learners.
